How many days in advance can I book an IRCTC ticket? â–¾
Indian Railways allows advance booking up to 60 days before the journey date, excluding the journey date itself. Booking opens at 8:00 AM IST. For example, for travel on 15 September, booking opens on 17 July at 8:00 AM.
What time does IRCTC advance booking open? â–¾
Every day at 8:00 AM IST — including Sundays and public holidays. It's a good idea to log in 10 minutes early since server load is high at this time.
What is Tatkal booking, and when does it open? â–¾
Tatkal is an emergency quota that opens 1 day before the journey. AC classes (1A, 2A, 3A, CC) open at 10:00 AM, and Non-AC (Sleeper, 2S) at 11:00 AM.
Can I book on public holidays? â–¾
Yes, IRCTC opens booking every day at 8:00 AM — Sundays and national holidays make no difference.

What are the Tatkal charges? â–¾

Can I get a refund if I cancel a Tatkal ticket? â–¾
Regular Tatkal tickets get a partial refund if cancelled more than 24 hours before departure. Premium Tatkal tickets are non-refundable.
How many passengers can I book on one PNR? â–¾
A maximum of 6 passengers per PNR. Tatkal quota allows up to 4. The monthly limit is 12 tickets, or 24 for Aadhaar-verified accounts.
